I'm so happy to say I have a healthy and happy six month old.
Earlier this week we went into the doctors for Lily's 6 month visit. She weighs 14 pounds, 14 ounces. And she's measuring 27 inches tall. She's developing right on track. :0)
This blog has been created to update my friends and family on the life of "Lily".

Time with Grandpa
Today we decided to spend some time with grandpa. Its been a fun morning so far. After making breakfast with Gramdpa, we decided to take Lily for a walk around the neighborhood. Lily decided she didn't want to sit in her stroller anymore, so grandpa did the next best thing.
Then when his shoulders got tired Lily found her next means of transportation....Grandpa's motorcycle. She was in heaven. I'm sure she can't wait until he takes her for a ride. So adorable.
They had a very fun morning together. I'm sure there will be so many more to come.

The creation of baby food
So when I was on bed rest I decided that I would try to make my own baby food for Lily. What the heck, it couldn't be hard, and since I didn't know how much free time I'd have on my hands I figured making it before she started eating solid foods would be best. This weekend we had Ed's cousin Jeff and his boyfriend Aaron staying with us, so we recruited them to help us with this process.
We were able to register for a baby food maker (basically a food processor) and we got it so that is what we are using. We bought some organic apples, squash, greens beans and peas to make her. After we peel, chop, steam and blend them all up individually, we are going to pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze them over night. Then remove the ice cubes and store them in freezer bags with the name and date on them. Whenever I need to defrost some food, I'll just do so in the fridge. This should allow me to have enough food to feed her for a few months. Easy peasy!
It took us about 1 hour to make them all up and while doing so we sat around an played cards. It was a very cool moment in being parents to share with Jeff and Araon.

Going back to work part time
After months on bed rest and 6 months of colic, I decided to go back to work. It was a really hard decision for me to make. I really love my job and I really love my daughter. I was torn on what to do. I figured the only way I could make the right decision for myself was to give it a shot. I had Mary to come to the house to watch Lily during the day so I know she was in good hands.
Today was my first day back, I will only be working three days a week. I cried on my way to work and I couldn't drive fast enough to get back home. It was nice to be with my piers and to talk about whats been going on in the rest of the world since I went out on bed rest. I really missed everyone.
Coming home to my daughter and knowing she was safe and sound was wonderful too. I'm going to try this working part time thing, for a few weeks and see how it goes. I'm not sure it will ever go into full time work but I'm just going to take it day by day until I decide what I want to do.
(I just want to give a special thanks to my wonderful husband for allowing me the option to go back to work or to stay home, he told me the decision was all mine. I know he really wanted me to stay home with Lily.)

My 33rd Birthday
Today is my 33rd birthday. All I wanted was to spend the day with my husband and my daughter. Lucky for me I got my wish. I was able to go get a massage while my husband watched Lily. Then came home, opened a few gifts and took Lily to the park by our house. It was exactly how I wanted to spend my special day.
